About Nauticaroger Finance Academy

Helping leaders in Italy turn financial data into confident decisions.

Nauticaroger Finance Academy was created for entrepreneurs and managers who feel responsible for results but do not want to depend entirely on accountants, external advisors or abstract models. Our mission is to translate financial language into clear, practical tools that support real decisions in your company.

We are based in Rome and work with leaders across Italy and Europe. Whether you run a growing family business or lead a unit in an international group, we help you see how strategy, operations and numbers fit together.

  • Programs designed around real business scenarios, not textbook exercises.
  • Tools that you can reuse with your own data after the academy.
  • A learning environment where questions are encouraged, not hidden.

Our base in Rome, working across Europe

Many of our programs are delivered online, but our physical home is in Rome. We know what it means to run a business in the Italian context – with its opportunities, constraints and specific regulations.

We regularly work with leaders in Italy, as well as European organisations that operate Italian subsidiaries and want to align local and international teams.

Why we started this academy

The founders of Nauticaroger Finance Academy spent years working with business owners, CFOs and leadership teams. We observed the same pattern again and again: leaders were asked to approve budgets and investments, but financial conversations often felt one-sided and too technical.

Many entrepreneurs in Italy told us they wanted to ask better questions about their numbers – without turning into full-time finance professionals. They needed a place where they could practise financial thinking safely and connect it to their own reality.

Nauticaroger Finance Academy grew out of this need: a space where leaders can explore financial scenarios, experiment with tools and then take structured, informed decisions back to their companies.

How we work with your numbers

Our approach combines structured content with the messy reality of everyday leadership. You do not just listen to lectures – you test ideas against your own situation.

Discover

We start by mapping how money currently flows through your business and which decisions create the biggest financial impact.

Design

Together we build simple, visual tools that connect your strategy, operations and financial statements in one view.

Practice

You run through realistic scenarios, test alternative options and see how each choice would affect profit and cash.

Embed

Finally, you design a monthly review routine for your team so that financial insight becomes a habit, not a one-off event.

Who is behind the academy

Our facilitation team brings together backgrounds in corporate finance, strategy, operations and adult learning. We have worked with scale-ups, family-owned firms and large organisations across Italy and Europe.

  • Former finance leaders who know how boardroom decisions translate into numbers.
  • Strategy and operations practitioners who speak the language of sales, supply chain and product teams.
  • Learning designers who turn complex concepts into simple, engaging exercises.

Instead of long lectures, we focus on guided conversations, structured reflection and tools you can easily bring back to your business context.

Designed for leaders in Italy, open to Europe

While our content is relevant to leaders in many countries, our roots are firmly in Italy. We understand local dynamics: how banks and investors think, how family businesses grow and how regulatory and tax environments influence decisions.

Growing businesses

Founders and SMEs preparing for new locations, new product lines or the next phase of growth – and wanting to understand the financial implications before committing.

Corporate leaders

Country managers and business unit heads who must explain performance to headquarters and negotiate realistic but ambitious targets for Italy.

Leadership teams

Cross-functional teams that want a common financial language so that sales, operations, HR and finance can make joint decisions without talking past each other.

How we measure impact

For us, a successful program is not just positive feedback at the end. We look at what changes in your decisions and in the way your leadership team discusses numbers.

  • Clearer decision memos that connect strategic choices with financial consequences.
  • Regular monthly or quarterly review meetings with a simple, focused finance dashboard.
  • Leaders who feel comfortable challenging assumptions in budgets and business cases.
  • Stronger conversations with banks, investors and internal stakeholders.

We encourage participants to define their own impact goals at the beginning of the program and revisit them at the end.

Leadership team reviewing financial dashboards together
Many leadership teams continue to use the simple dashboards and review rituals created during the academy long after the program ends.
